Rest in peace, Gordon Lightfoot.

I’m going against my weekly posting schedule to say that a wave of sadness has hit me this morning. I just found out that one of my favorite singer-songwriters of mine, Gordon Lightfoot, has passed away yesterday, at the age of 84. I don’t know whether to feel sad that he’s no longer with us, or whether to feel happy that his legacy will live on forever.

He had a wave of great hits, such as If You Could Read My Mind, Sundown, The Wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald, and more.

I even have a Spotify playlist dedicated to his music that I’m listening to in the background as I write this post.

Rest in peace, Gordon Lightfoot. Your music will be forever in our hearts.

Even Spotify knows I felt bad about it. From my 1,900-track Liked Songs list, it has started choosing Lightfoot’s songs more often than it used to, I swear.
